General Conference Questions

Change Management 2017 is the preeminent conference for Change Management professionals. It is the largest gathering of all levels of change practitioners. This annual event is produced by the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP). This three-day event is the must-attend conference for change practitioners and anyone who works in a fluctuating environment and wants to positively influence change.

When and where is the conference?
Change Management 2017 is at the Hyatt Regency in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. All conference proceedings will take place within this property. The conference dates are May 21-24, 2017. Please note that there will be some pre-conference workshops offered Sunday afternoon before the official start of the conference from 1 to 4 p.m. There will be also be post-conference workshops from 2 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24.

What do I need to bring with me to the conference?
Just yourself with a great attitude, and be ready to learn, network and have fun! You will receive your name badge and information packet when you check in on site. However, we encourage you to download the official conference app before you arrive so you can familiarize yourself with the program, set your own agenda, see who else is attending and start making new connections!
What should I wear?
Business casual attire is perfectly appropriate throughout the conference.
Can I get PMI PDU credit for attending the conference?
Yes, please follow the PMI rules for submitting relevant PDU's for Category B: Continuing Education. Under Category B, PDU credits can be earned by attending relevant educational courses, conferences, seminars, or symposiums by training organizations not registered with PMI. This can include a training offered by an employer, a professional association, or a non-R.E.P. training organization. Can I get CCMP PDU credit for attending the conference?
Yes, conference attendance can be used toward the ongoing maintenance of the CCMP designation. Change Management 2017 offers up to 17 PDUs. Attending either of the pre and post conference workshops will offer additional PDUs. Refer to the Candidate Handbook for complete details.

Agenda Questions

Where can I find the schedule for the conference?
The full agenda is available on the Program page. The conference begins on Sunday, May 21 with optional Pre-Conference Workshops, a New Attendee Orientation and an Opening Reception. The Opening Keynote will begin at 8:30 am on Monday, May 22 and Tuesday, May 23 and will run until the evening. The closing General Session will end on Wednesday, May 24 at noon and will be followed by optional Post-Conference Workshops.
What time does the conference begin?
The conference officially kicks off with a Welcome Reception on Sunday, May 21 at 6 p.m. However, prior to that, there will be optional Pre-Conference Workshops in the early afternoon (1 to 4 p.m.) for an additional fee, and an orientation session for First-time Attendees on Sunday late afternoon shortly before the Opening Reception. We highly encourage your participation in order to attain a jump-start on professional networking so you can develop relationships throughout the conference and add value to your conference participation.
What time does the conference end on Wednesday?
The conference will end at noon on Wednesday in order to allow for outbound travel that afternoon. There will be some optional Post-Conference Workshops on Wednesday, May 24 from 2 to 5 p.m.
Who will be speaking?
Lisa Earle McLeod will kick off the conference at the Opening General Session and Simon Sinek will be the keynote for the Closing General Session. Speakers for the Breakout Sessions can be found on the Full Program page

There are six topic tracks: Professional Practices, Foundations, Enterprise Capabilities and Leadership, Tools of the Trade, Integrated Disciplines and Partnerships, and Trends and Innovation.

Registration and Payment Questions

What is the cost of attendance?
The cost of attending varies depending on several factors, including whether you are a member or non-member. It is more cost effective to attend as an ACMP member. To view a listing of all registration options please visit our Registration page. There are discounts for members, early registration and groups. There are also academic and government discounts available. Please email for details.
What is included in the cost of attendance?
Your registration fee includes the General Sessions, all breakout sessions and the following meals and events: Sunday: Opening Reception Monday: Breakfast, Morning Break, Lunch and Afternoon Break Tuesday: Breakfast, Morning Break, Lunch, Afternoon Break and Networking Dinner/Event Wednesday: Breakfast and Morning Break. It also includes exclusive access to the app and select session presentations.
How do I take advantage of the member rate?
For less money than you would pay for a non-member registration, you can join ACMP and take advantage of all the benefits of membership including discounted conference attendee registration fees. Please be sure to become a member before registering for the conference in order to save.

Can I use a form of payment other than a credit card?
Credit cards are the primary form of payment for the conference, but there is also an option to pay via check or wire transfer during the registration process. Just be sure to complete the payment quickly so that your registration remains active.
When should I register?
Space is limited. To ensure your seat at the conference, it is important to register early. As an additional incentive, there are discounts for registering early, so please take advantage of these offers!
Can I get a discount for bringing my colleagues?

What is your cancellation and transfer policy?
All cancellation and transfer requests must be received in writing to ACMP. Conference fees are transferable to another participant from the same organization ONE TIME only. Hotel and Travel Questions

Where is the hotel located?

Which airport do I fly in to?
The closest airport is Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY). The airport is approximately 12 miles from the hotel. Taxi rates vary depending on traffic. Click here for more information.
How do I book a hotel room?
If you are interested in booking online, a reservation link has been set up for you to make room reservations. Currently the event name is under “Change Management 2017.”
What is the cost of the hotel room?
The negotiated standard room rate for the Hyatt Regency is $219 per night plus applicable taxes for a Single/Double. The room block is limited and available only on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is recommended you make your reservations as soon as possible.

When is check-in and check-out at the hotel? Will I have to miss a morning session to check-out?
Hotel check-in time is 3 p.m. Check out is noon; late checkouts may be offered based on availability. You may check out and store luggage with the bell stand for the rest of Wednesday's sessions.

Guests and Location Questions

Can my family come with me?
ACMP encourages you to travel with your family to make the most of your time in New Orleans. Friends and family of course can stay with you in your hotel room or can even take advantage of the discounted group rate in a separate room. Guests and children are unable to participate in the professional conference; however, there are a lot of activities in the New Orleans area that your guests can participate in.
What types of activities are available on-site?
A large assortment of restaurants and shopping are housed under the roof of the Hyatt Regency. You may also enjoy the heated outdoor pool, Le Jardin spa, and fitness center.
Will I have internet access?
ACMP has negotiated a special rate with the Hyatt Regency. There will be wireless internet in the meeting space available as well.
