Scott McAllister is a results oriented leader with a passion for individual and organizational transformation. He has spent the last 15 years helping clients initiate transformational change with a combination of strategy, operational excellence and innovation platforms across a broad range of industries, ranging from healthcare and biotech to financial services and telecom.

This interactive Closing Session will explore why change agility is critical, what is really means (including a look at industry definitions), and help you identify strengths, weaknesses, tactics for improvement with other change experts.

Dr. Dawn-Marie Turner, CMC

Dr. Dawn-Marie Turner is educator, speaker, coach, author, and certified management consultant (CMC). She is author of “Launch Lead Live: The Executive’s Guide to Preventing Resistance and Succeeding with Organizational Change. She is president of Turner Change Management and has twenty years of experience in change programming, transition planning and organizational change consulting and coaching.

Turner developed the DEAM© -- a transition framework. She has been a speaker at national and international conferences on organizational change, change management best practice, readiness, and change fatigue.

Her work has been published in the International Journal of Quality and Service Sciences, the International Journal of Knowledge, Culture and Change Management and the “Web Mobile-Based Applications for Healthcare Management”. By focusing on the perspective of the people who need to adopt the change, Turner shows leaders how they can prevent resistance and make better use of the time and resources they invest in change. Turner helps her clients turn change from a liability to an asset.

"Let’s Talk: A Conversational Approach to Organizational Change"

Turner will explore, how a conversational, strength based approach to change can prevent resistance, and build the readiness needed to create higher levels of organizational change capacity. Conversation is one of the most powerful, but undervalued tools leaders have for enabling healthy and sustainable change.

She will share new research in neuroscience, behavioral and change science, and psychology that demonstrates resistance to change is not a given. It can be prevented.

One of the most common reasons for organizational change is to solve a problem. Leaders analyze the problem, define the solution and proceed to implement. For the change-recipients this type of change is almost always associated with a sense of loss. Sustainable, healthy organizational change happens when you focus on strengthening the organization and creating a new normal.

Dr. Paul White

Dr. Paul White is a psychologist, author, speaker and consultant who makes work relationships work. He has written articles for and been interviewed by Bloomberg’s Business Week, CNN/Fortune.com, Entrepreneur.com, Fast Company, FoxBusiness.com, Huffington Post LIVE, U.S. News and World Report and Yahoo! Finance.

White is the coauthor of three books including, “The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace,” written with Dr. Gary Chapman. Based on their extensive research and expertise, White and Chapman have developed a unique way for organizations to motivate employees that leads to increased job satisfaction, higher employee performance and enhanced levels of trust. Their Motivating by Appreciation Inventory and Appreciation at Work training resources have been used by numerous corporations, colleges and universities, medical facilities, schools, non-profit organizations, and government agencies, and is available in multiple languages.

His most recent book “The Vibrant Workplace: Overcoming the Obstacles to Building a Culture of Appreciation” was just released in April 2017.

"Making Change Go More Smoothly with Authentic Appreciation"

Facilitating change within organizations is challenging, and change management professionals are always looking for ways to make the process more effective and successful. Unfortunately, “change” has a negative connotation to many employees; as a result, resistance to proposed change is an expected (and sometimes, intense) reaction. Fortunately, helping employees and supervisors learn how to communicate authentic appreciation has been found to reduce resistance to change, and also releases positive energy to implement change. Understanding the difference between employee recognition and appreciation is critical, however, as is learning the key factors to communicate authentic appreciation – both of which will be addressed by Dr. White.
